Major updates

Rolled out a lot of backend updates yesterday. Pretty much recoded all of derp, which also came with the following additions:

Search (http://derp.us/search)
Pagination for /user/ and /user/name

We’ve also started using neap.us for short url’s.

updates

I recoded all of derp for better code management, and added more features like searching (via web - will do a search command soon). GUI website for URL/Paste/IMG will come later depending on how I choose to do it.

I also updated the vim plugin to get the file name. Eventually when I learn how, I’ll add login/token parameters to :DerpPost.

incoming downtime

We’re going to look at a day or two of downtime due to a server move. We’ll be back up as soon as possible.

derp vim plugin v1

Also with the chrome extension I created a vim plugin that pastes your current buffer to derp. Currently it only posts current buffer with file type. More features in the future.

You can grab the plugin from http://derp.us/clients.

derp chrome extension v1

Made a chrome extension for pasting and URL shortening from your browser today for fun (and to learn the chrome extension API).

It can be found at http://derp.us/clients. I’m proud of myself. It is pretty hacked up, but it works. I plan on making it look nicer in the future.

derp search

I’ve been meaning to make a search for derp for a while, mainly because I think it would be pretty sweet to have. I first tried to make one via Google custom site search, until I got to the pricing page, and since I’m cheap with no cash, I decided against it.

Today I created a search for derp at http://derp.us/search/ until I realized it was quite possibly the worst search in the universe. Because of this horrible atrocity I created, I rm’d the file right after finishing. Usability was nigh. So, search has hit the TODO.

When I do start on a not so humiliating search page, it will add a new search:N post parameter for command line searching, and a GUI http://derp.us/search/.

blog and updates

We’ve now got a blog! I find Tumblr a much better way of blogging - and this will be a better way of making announcements about changes.

Now, to the updates. Today I changed the main page to a man page look. Not sure if I like it centered, I’ll figure that out later. I also updated to GeSHi 1.0.8.8, which came with more language additions, so check out types for the full list.
